We have been spending as much time outside as possible since it has been so nice out lately. One of our favorite things to do this time of year is to work on our garden. It is best to accomplish all you can outside now before it gets too hot out. Which will be before we know it here in Florida.
No matter if you are feeling the heat or not, lemonade is almost always a winner. There is nothing quite as refreshing after spending the day outside.
This particular lemonade is extra special because it has a Florida twist; fresh-squeezed Florida orange juice!
The idea sprung on me while I was squeezing some lemons to make regular lemonade and saw the oranges sitting in my fruit bowl. My husband had picked them up at a fruit stand on the side of the road while on a day trip with his mom. These were legit Florida oranges 🙂
If you a feeling like you want an “adult” drink: You can easily make this into a Hard Florida Lemonade by adding one shot rum (preferably St. Augustine Distillery Rum) to 8 ounces of lemonade. Pour over ice, garnish with a lemon or orange slice and enjoy!
We broke in our (almost done, but not quite) new outdoor bar that my husband built with this magical concoction.
