French Onion Burgers

It is officially Fall, but since this is Florida you wouldn’t know. We can basically break the grill out all year long. With this being the case I thought I would share our favorite burger recipe. My husband says it his favorite burger EVER, which is super high praise and lucky for me because it is super easy to make 😉

With this being so easy to throw together it is great for any busy weeknight or BBQ you throw. It has been a hit with everyone that has tried it. Even people that don’t regularly eat mushrooms love them. Honestly, if you didn’t tell them they probably wouldn’t know they were in there. The best part is that no matter how they are cooked they are still super moist and tender.

I found this recipe from one of my favorite sources; Taste of Home. I didn’t make many changes because they are amazing the way they are. The only major ingredient I really added was shredded cheese because… well cheese! The original recipe also did not call for any cracked pepper which I added. As always I toss in some Lawry’s Seasoned Pepper for more depth of flavor since they use a blend of black pepper, bell pepper, and other natural spices. It isn’t necessarily the cheapest spice but it is worth the price; especially since I use it in EVERYTHING. The best price I’ve found is at Walmart and they do grocery pick up. That’s a win-win in my book!

We used brioche buns this time that Kyle found at Aldi and I’m thinking that is what we will use from now on. SO stinking good! You can use any cheese you prefer or none at all if you are like my mother-in-law who isn’t a fan of cheese (that’s crazy, haha!). We used provolone and topped with lettuce, tomato, and some extra french-fried onions. I highly suggest topping the burger with more of the onions giving it the perfect crunch.

To make these yummy burgers you start by combining the diced mushrooms, french-fried onions, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Then crumble ground beef over top along with cheese. Knead together until well combined. Form into four patties.

Grill over medium heat for six to nine minutes on each side or until thermometer inserted reaches 160 degrees.

We enjoyed our burgers with some Pinot Noir that Kyle picked up at Aldi.

Adele even loves these. Although she always eats a deconstructed burger haha.
